We can see advertising everywhere around us, in the streets, television, magazine and radio. Currently most companies are finding different ways to sell their products. Advertising expert try to appeal to young peoples needs and feeling making their product attractive and desirable. As a result this affects young people to drink alcohol and eat junk food. This essay will explain that advertising increases young peoples obesity and encourages them to drink alcohol. Advertising affect young peoples obesity in different ways. Also the movie E.T. when it shows E.T. eating Reeses Pieces (Ruskin 2003). Consequently these products have a great impact on youth to go and buy the produ cts (Ruskin 2003). In short, television advertising and hidden advertising effect young people obesity by consuming more calories. Advertising encourages young people to drink alcohol in several enjoyable ways. First of all, major films are sponsored by companies which promote alcohol. Executive Summary The drone age is coming per Galeotti . It has been estimated that annual spending on drones around the world will almost double to $11.4 billion by 2022. New technology has been driven by the military, and drones are critical to military operations. Due to changing times, drone use is rapidly adjusting to commercial use by civilians. This drone revolution has massive implications, ranging from legal and moral to economic and geopolitical. It will be a deeply disruptive technology, able on the one hand to provide undreamt-of capacities to impoverished people and countries, and on the other to widen the gap between haves and have-nots. It may prove a creative, empowering experience, but also has the potential to be destructive, destabilizing and divisive. Question: Describe about the Rhetorical Evaluation of Michal Kurlaender and Jacob Jacksons Obamas Free College Plan Is No Panacea; Just Ask California? Answer: Introduction Free education in California as proposed by Obama is a Nobel gesture to increase the level of skilled workers. However, Michal Kurlaender and Jacob Jackson tries to focus on the negative aspects of implementation of this strategy. The two analysts involved in this essay are Kurlaender who is an education professor at the University of California, Davis and Jackson who is a researcher at the Public Policy Institute of California. Kurlaender and Jackson both argue over the fact that although there are high numbers of community colleges in California however many California students do not complete the degrees. The authors use an argumentation style in depicting the current scenario along with the pros and cons of the scenario. The major problems stated in the thesis are lack of appropriate funding for the community colleges, lack of conversion of high participatory rates into high levels of post secondary success and lowered cost of living. In the thesis the authors compares the free e ducation service of California with the success of the free education systems implemented in USA where the student graduation rates are high compared to California. Hence, the use of argumentation adequately supports the thesis. Thesis Both Kurlaender and Jackson argue on the success of Obamas proposal regarding the introduction of community colleges in California. The arguments presented against the success probability are justified since the authors are able to support the arguments with relevant facts and statistics. Firstly, the readers are informed of the lack of fund that the community colleges suffer due to affects of recession. Hence, they argued that although the number of students applying in the colleges is high however, the colleges are not able to accommodate the students. Secondly, only 42% of the total students enrolling into community colleges intend to earn graduation degree. Hence, the authors pose the threat to the success of Obamas plan. In addition to these, they pointed out that the community college service gives rise to a sense of low ct of living that reduces the retention rates of the students in California. Hence concluding to the stated arguments the authors persisted on the fact that the introduction of the community college plan can be successful only when appropriate resources can be delivered to the students. The authors thus successfully established the arguments along with the stated statistics in order to make the readers aware of the current situation of education in California. Conclusion The rising demand for skilled workers can be met only with high degree of education. Education should be available to all without making any class or income discrimination. The authors signifies that in spite of all arguments Obamas proposal of free community colleges is a correct approach in order to provide mass education to upper as well as lower segment of students. Thus to make the proposal successful the government should consider some of the required changes so that the proposal can be successfully implemented.
